THE PROPER MARMALADE COMPANY
The Proper Marmalade Company - Award Winning Products
We believe in TASTE.
All our marmalades are 100% handmade from fresh fruit, simmered until the peel is soft before boiling to a set with sugar. In our opinion, this is the only way to make a good marmalade. The sharpness and clarity of the fruit shines through.
Our hand cut Marmalades have gone from strength to strength with numerous Awards including Paddington Bears 'paw' of approval with World Champion, Gold and Silver Awards at the Original Marmalade Festival in Cumbria and several Great Taste Golds, including the Top 50 Products Awards, whittled down from 9,700 entries.
Made in batches of 22 jars, our marmalades have the kick to wake you up in the morning. Why make it yourself?
"Our brand new Tawny Seville Marmalade won the coveted Double Gold Award at the 2015 World Marmalade Festival Dalemain - joining our Pink Grapefruit Marmalade in reaching the pinnacle of award status!"
As seen on TV
Victoria has been invited onto our television screens by Kirstie Allsopp to appear in two of her Channel 4 programmes; Kirsties Handmade Christmas and Kirsties Handmade Britain (and in turn been featured in Kirstie's craft books) and more recently, Victoria was invited to feature in BBC 1 Paul Hollywood "Pies & Puds" programme where Paul specially commissioned a marmalade!
Split into two distinct ranges, there is a marmalade for everyone!
- "Proper Marmalade" - this is our traditional range. Ideal for slathering on your toast and giving you a good old fashioned kick in the morning.
- "Improper Marmalade" - our quirkier side. Here you will find marmalades that are not just for toast! Ideal accompaniments for meats, cheeses ... even marmalade for puddings - definitely a range for the non-tradtionalists amongst you.
We have two coveted World Marmalade Double Gold (the highest possible accolade) awards for our Pink Grapfefruit and Tawny Seville Marmalades. Nearly all of our marmalades have awards.
All our marmalades are handmade from fresh fruit, simmered until the peel is soft before boiling to a set with sugar. In our opinion, this is the only way to make a good marmalade. If you don't have the time to handmake your own, let us make it for you!
